OOC: Come on you guys… Don’t let it die…
Reaver eyed him suspiciously. Glaring at the young man as he left his office. Bah.
Not long after, the lawyer left as well, leaving Reaver to his own thoughts in his office.
“Are you certain he was? I do not see a single thing except a few baubles for your brother and sister in that will. Read the letter that is in it. It should explain a few things.”
Reaver looked just as startled “/Guardian/?! Oh, nononono /not/ another one. No way. Absolutely not. I simply refuse to watch this brat. Find someone else to do it.”
The lawyer looked between them and said “I’m afraid it’s illegal to not follow the will. Ah, yes….before I forget…your mother also left you all of her posessions.” HE hands Jack a very ornate dragon motifed key “Including her estate and all that lies with in it’s boundries.”
Reaver bluster “asjkfhakj ILLEGAL? Really? Seriously? I’d like to see them just try and arrest me for not allowing this brat to live under my roof. HE’s /eighteen/. HE doesn’t need a guardian.”
“Ah, no, but he /is/ a student. And that is under law eight point seven-five dash three, addendum four—”
“Alrightalrightalright. I’ll do it. Just shut up and leave my campus.”
“Your grandfather was the founder of this school. Your mother inherited it from him, and you are inheriting it from her….however…as you are still enrolled— ah, ah, no. I took care of it, you are indeed still enrolled, you need a guardian. As the current Headmaster and Headmistress are out of the country for an indefinite amount of time….this falls to the next in line of power—”
Reaver walks in a satisfied look on his face.
Reaver looked between the two of them, blissfully unaware “Hm? What? What happened?”
“It’s her will, you stupid boy. Your father had it locked inside of a safe that the police confiscated. Read it, or would you rather I do it for you?”
The old lawyer looked over at Jack through half moon spectacles, a piercing stare.
“Your father has been incarcerated on embezzlement charges….however….” he creaked over as he pulled out an envelope from his briefcase, and handed the yellowed parchment to Jack “this concerns my client, rather than your father; Your mother.”
Reaver hadn’t yet made it back to his office yet (dalliance) and only the wizened lawyer was in the room.
A kind man, he was however also, after all, a lawyer, and he had a job to do.
“Ah…Jackie, sit, sit…I have some…news…”
Jack awoke to find that night had fallen once again. His stomach growled loudly, reminding him…
He rolls his eyes and waves off his hand “Then go on, get. But be quick about it. I have far more pressing matters than whatever it is that awaits you.”
Jack awoke to find that night had fallen once again. His stomach growled loudly, reminding him that he had failed to eat the food that Lyra had brought him. Of course, it was probably just…
“If I knew I wouldn’t be looking for you. He refuses to say anything further on the matter until you are present.”
